Xenia Rural Water District is advising customers residing in Rippey to boil water before consumption following a water line break inside a building on Monday, January 8th.  The water line break caused residence of the City of Rippey lose water pressure for a short period of time.

IT IS RECOMMENDED NOT TO DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING FIRST.  Bring the water to a boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using. You may also use bottled water.  Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.  Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms.  The water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes without boiling it first.

After water service is restored to the area, the District will test the water to ensure it is safe for consumption.  Notice will be given to the affected members when the boil advisory has been lifted.

You may also enroll in AMG alerts which will send you either email, voice mail or text message letting you know when the precautinary boil advisory is lifted
